Carob Powder

Peruvian carob powder also known as Peruvian mesquite powder is derived from the pods of the Prosopis pallida tree, a tree native to north-western South America, i.e. the drier northern parts of Peru (e.g. desert area of Piura), southern Colombia and Ecuador. Carob powder has a very distinct sweet chocolaty taste and intense aroma.

Our Carob Powder

Our Carob powder is obtained from the ripe, dry pods of Prosopis pallida found in the coastal areas of northern Peru. The pods are used after crushing to separate seed and pulp. The pulp can be ground into a fine powder for use in human nutrition. The dry powder can be used as an ingredient of cakes, breads, sweets, ice creams or drinks and as a flavouring.
